Natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, and landslides exacerbate the situation for all children. And insecurity and uncertainty are continuing to fuel a wave of internal displacement as people seek safety for themselves and their families. And on another hand, Disasters and environmental effects are other big concern people are facing in some of the remote areas in Afghanistan, extreme rainfall caused widespread flooding, and many villages across the country are affected every year.  At the same time, heavy snow during the winter also causes a lot of damage such as the recent flood in Nangarhar, Kabul, and wardag provinces affecting many people, and due to lack of many facilities, some kids and families’ members have died.

SAW is working along with local and international partners to evacuate and help people.

Current needs identified by our local partners include:

• Medium and longer term’s recovery work such as livelihood recovery, rehabilitation of damaged houses and public facilities, psychosocial support to floods-affected communities
• Tarpaulins/emergency shelters for displaced residents
• Ongoing disaster preparedness work
• Clean drinking water
• Ration kits for families consist of rice, oil, salt, soybeans, etc.
• Clean drinking water
• Hygiene and sanitation kits

The Need

SAW plans and works on a short and long-term fundamental solution, which helps people to save their lives and houses during the disaster/environmental effects

SAW is looking for financial support from donors and People donations to start working on basic solutions such as emergency shelter, livelihood recovery, basic health and education center, and ration kits.
